A Tale Of Two Friends : 3

Tarun was attending the workshop for people who had opened broking accounts with “Babbar Sher “Broking ltd.
“So, everyone, first of all please understand that a demat account is different from a broking account.”
Tarun asked, “So, I have to separately deposit money in my demat account and that money will be used for transaction of my shares?”
“Yes, Mr. Tarun. That’s correct.”  “So, I hope you all are clear with your bank details now.” Mr. Vishal, the trainer at Babbar Sher Broking asked everyone.
“Yes!”
“Good. Now all of you please understand, Share market though an investment option, doesn’t necessarily mean you all will make a huge profit all the time that will make you  rich overnight.”
“Share Market is not a game but a serious investing option for the longer run. Profits and losses will happen periodically but that doesn’t mean you get excited and call your Broker all the time. Remember, you will have to be very patient and tactful, when it comes to results.”
“And with that concludes our presentation and training session. If you have any queries or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime. We’ll be glad to be of some help to you.”
“That was a great session.” Tarun said. “Yes. It sure was. I hope you had a great time?” Mr. Vishal asked Tarun.
“Yes, I learnt so much by garnering this knowledge and I hope I will be able to put it to some good use.” Tarun said.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Tarun, you’ll soon, you’ll be able to fully and completely understand about the share market and the way it functions.” Mr. Vishal said.
“You have no idea how much you missed. When will you understand?” Tarun was fuming over Ajit.
“But I told you, I am not interested. I don’t have the time to attend these “welcome aboard” type’s parties.” Ajit retaliated.
“It’s not about welcoming, Ajit, it’s about making sure that your money is put to use in the right direction.”
“Ok, OK, I will see if I can attend the next session. Right now I have to rush to Acme. They are giving out various promotional offers.” Saying this Ajit ran outside the door.

“I hope Ajit realizes what mistakes he is making, soon enough.” Ajit thought as he saw Tarun running away in the background.”

A Tale Of Two Friends : 2

Tarun and Ajit resumed their lives as normal. Since they were very good friends and colleagues as well, they kept meeting regularly. But they seldom discussed about their investments.
Ajit bragged about his demat account to most of his colleagues while Tarun was casual about it and did not speak much about his demat account to everyone.
One day, Ajit’s financial advisor called him up.
FA: Good morning! Is it Mr. Ajit?
Ajit: Yes speaking. May I know who this is?
FA: Sir, I am Vineet from ‘Babbar Sher’ Broking, I hope you remember you have a demat account with us.
Ajit: Yes! Yes! I remember very well, tell me what happened?
FA: Sir, we have a beginner’s workshop for people like you so that you can understand the functioning of the Indian share market and invest accordingly.
Tarun: WHAT! Do you think I have time for all this baby stuff?
FA: Sir, I understand that your time is precious. But this workshop is very crucial towards your success. Moreover, this workshop is especially for our clients who have newly registered with us.
Tarun: Thank you sir but I am not interested. <Disconnects the phone>
Tarun: What a waste of time! These people think everyone is free like them.
Meanwhile let us see what is happening on Ajit’s side.
FA: Good Morning! Am I speaking to Mr. Ajit?
Ajit: Good Morning! Yes, Ajit this side.
FA: Sir, I am Vineet from ‘Babbar Sher’ Broking, I hope you remember you have a demat account with us.
Ajit: Yes, I do. Tell me.
FA: Sir, we have a scheduled training workshop this weekend to train and guide our new clients.
Ajit: Sure, I will love to attend it. What time is it?
FA: Between 10 am – 2 pm sir.
Ajit: Ok.
FA: We’ll email you the address. Please be sure to attend it. It’ll be very useful to you while trading.
Ajit: Yes, I’ll be there. Sounds great to me.
FA: Thank you sir, have a great day ahead.
Ajit: Thank you very much Mr. Vineet. Wish you the same.

A Tale Of Two Friends: 1

Ajit and Tarun are best friends. Both were in school and college together.
Tarun is an intelligent and mature young man. Ajit is casual and more of a laidback person.
Tarun believes in hard work and calculated.
Tarun believes in hard work and honesty, while Ajit believes more in luck and shortcuts to success.
Both joined the same organization together as marketing executives.
They work hard to achieve their targets and this is noticed by their superiors. They are soon promoted as marketing managers in their firms with an increase in their pay.
As they open their salary accounts, they are also provided with demat accounts with ‘Babbar Sher’ Broking Ltd.
Tarun sees this as an investment opportunity while Ajit sees this opportunity as a fast money making prospect.
Ajit: Yaar, Tarun see this! We both have received demat accounts in ‘Babbar Sher’. We can now make quick money and become rich faster.
Tarun: No Ajit. Share Market investment is very risky, do you want to risk your hard earned money? I don’t want to. I will speak to my Broking manager and ask him for his guidance.
Ajit: Tarun, don’t be a fool yaar! We can even read the newspapers and become expert ourselves.
Tarun: No Ajit. Newspapers will only give us an analysis of how the stock market has performed. The real guidance will be given to us by brokers.
Ajit: Do as you wish, Tarun. I won’t force you. But I will follow the newspapers and make investments accordingly.
Tarun: Ok, Ajit. Do as you wish, I won’t force you. But remember this is your hard earned money don’t let it go in waste.
Ajit: Ok Tarun.
